Description
A dense cylindrical flower spike, built from hundreds of tightly packed florets. Fine black styles project from the surface in a pattern that gives the species its common name, Hairpin Banksia. Bold and bird-like. Colour ranges from golden-orange through rust, deepening unevenly across the spike. Each one is unique. Sold individually. From eastern Australia. Suited to a narrow-necked vessel that holds a pair or trio of spikes upright. Alternatively, display en masse in a ceramic vase by Alissa Coe Studio or Clam Lab.
