A cylindrical vase with a pinched waist, rounded rim and narrowing circular opening. Features extensive feathery drifts of luminous bird's egg blue, turquoise and soft grey, which coalesce into glassy drips on the base. Atmospheric surface reminiscent of the northern-lights. Some black speckle. One of a kind and handmade by Clam Lab. Stoneware. Matte and glossy finish with considerable sparkle. Watertight.

Clam Lab is the ceramics practice of artist Clair Catillaz, based in Catskill, New York, USA. Catillaz creates tactile, functional vessels of other-worldly beauty. They reflect a profound understanding of materials and ceramic history — drawing from the aesthetic of Wabi Sabi and Japanese ceramics, Scandinavian design and the American studio pottery movement, among others. Each piece features high-quality stoneware, masterful glaze customization and application, a sophisticated firing process, and a skillful integration of hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques.
