Description

Florida's only native cycad, also known as the Coontie Palm. Elegant, special and not to be missed! A hardy, slow-growing specimen, which predates the dinosaurs and looks every bit the part. Featuring a central, spiky, partially-submerged caudex from which glossy-green, arching, feathery fronds emerge in a circular formation. Unique fountain shape and compact habit — under ideal conditions indoors, it matures to 1-2.5' Ø/h. Fronds are long (up to 24-36"), long-lastinG and slow to shed. Each consists of up to 30 narrow, leathery, pointy leaflets.
