Description

A rare caudiciform succulent from Madagascar, ideal for the collector of unusual plants. Prized for its sculptural, swollen trunk and bonsai-like form. Featuring a delicate network of twisted branches and compact, lace-like foliage. Slow-growing and deciduous. Benefits from considered pruning during active growth. Produces small, charming yet inconspicuous yellow flowers in the wild — but rarely so indoors. Thrives in bright sun, low humidity, and minimal watering. Its dramatic “elephant-foot” base, seasonal leaf drop, and rarity in cultivation make it a standout specimen for indoor succulent displays. Under ideal conditions, caudex may mature and swell up to 2' Ø and 3" h. Potted in a rose terracottta Elizabeth Planter 18 cm / 6" by Bergs Potter. Prefers very bright indirect and moderate direct sunlight — necessary for healthy growth and optimal caudex development, in particular.
