General Care

Light

Prefers bright, filtered light. Tolerates some direct sunlight. Protect from harsh midday sun to prevent scorching.

Temperature

16-24°C. Keep above 10°C. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

Humidity

Average. No special requirements.

Water

Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. During the growing season (spring-summer), water every week. In winter, reduce watering to once every 2-3 weeks or less, as the plant enters dormancy. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot; always check soil moisture before watering. Ensure good soil drainage.

Fertilize

Feed once a month during the growing season (spring-summer) with a balanced, organic succulent/cacti fertilizer, following package instructions. Avoid fertilizing in winter when the plant is not actively growing.

Maintenance

Rotate the plant occasionally to promote even growth. Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust. Prune as needed to maintain shape and remove any yellowing or damaged leaves. Support long, heavy vines with stakes if necessary.

Potting and Repotting

Use a well-draining succulent and cacti potting mix. Repot every 2-3 years in spring, moving to a pot that is 1-2" larger in diameter and depth. For larger plants, consider top-dressing with fresh potting mix annually instead of repotting.

Special Points/Common Problems
  • Overwatering is the most common issue, leading to soft, yellowing and mushy stems or root rot.
  • Leggy and weak growth may result from insufficient light.
  • Sudden changes in temperature or light may results in leaf drop.
  • Regularly check for pests such as spider mites, which can be a common problem in dry conditions.
