DESCRIPTION
A charming bud vase with a domed top, narrow opening and pronounced foot. Sprayed applications of navy glaze are used here to great effect — creating dense drifts of colour as well as delicate fields of particulates. An extensive network of hatch marks is also thrown into relief in blue, and provides considerable interest up close. Wheel-thrown stoneware. Matte finish throughout. Watertight. One of a kind and handmade by Clam Lab.

Clam Lab is the ceramics practice of artist Clair Catillaz, based in Catskill, New York, USA. Catillaz creates vessels of other-worldly beauty on the wheel and using traditional hand-building techniques. Her pieces are often fired multiple times in the kiln, which accounts for their remarkable, nuanced glazing. Her work expertly balances form and function.
